Marham Village Preschool is run as a non-profit charity. The day to day running costs of the preschool are quite high, so we often have to resort to fundraising for larger purchases. Earlier this year, we achieved our biggest goal yet - our new kitchen.
This year's Fundraisers
Throughout the summer we carried on with the fundraising, we had stalls at Marham Fun Day, Shouldham Fete, Marham Families Day and Hilgay Raft Race. We also held an 80s disco at Marham Bowls Club.
We used some of our fundraising money to improve our outdoor area, including our lovely new sandpit. However, as we spend a lot of time outside, the grass has been badly worn away. Last winter there were times when we couldn't use the grass at all as it was all mud and very slippery. At the moment we are asking for quotes to get astro turf to replace the grass area. As you can imagine, this doesn't come cheap. Once we have received the best quote, we will let everyone know the price and begin our fundraising! We are currently looking into lottery grants and other ways to finance this project, so if anyone has any ideas for fundraising or knows of people or companies to approach we would be very grateful. Watch this space!
